Rutland Hill / Bill Tutte Memorial

Ubiety was commissioned to design a new public space at Rutland Hill, Newmarket (the junction of the High Street and Palace Street).  A shared space has been designed that incorporates a memorial to Bill Tutte, the son of a Newmarket gardener and unsung hero of the Second World War.  Bill Tutte worked at Bletchely Park and was responsible for cracking the 'Lorenz' code (arguably more important than the Enigma code).

Work commenced in the summer of 2014 and was unveiled on 10th September 2014.
